Automated Warehouses?
As if AI technology hasn’t impressed enough, it seems that big stores like Walmart, Target, and Albertsons are set to move towards AI-powered warehouses.
Symbotic, a software and robotics company based in Massachusetts, is teaming up with venture capital giant SoftBank to create GreenBox Systems. Specifically, this venture is aimed at providing AI-powered logistics and warehouse management to smaller companies, ones that would never be able to afford such services.
One analyst had this to say about the service:
“I’ve seen a lot of robotics tech and I’ve never seen anything like it my life. Compared to what it replaces, it’s like day and night.”
Symbotic shares are up more than 200% since going public in July of last year.
No faith in SoftBank? Although SoftBank missed the mark on WeWork, GreenBox offers both real estate and technology…not just worthless office space. Industry leaders believe this could be a potential $500 billion market. Certainly something to keep an eye on.
When The Dust Settles In D.C.
On Tuesday, Republicans will meet to begin their hopefully short journey to find a new Speaker of the House. The current front runners are Steve Scalise and Jim Jordan, both holding different styles than McCarthy.
This could impact a few areas of business, so let’s break them down.
Energy
McCarthy had done some work around energy reform, signing deals that were “win-wins” for both fossil fuel and clean energy companies.
Scalise- Strong ties to offshore drilling in coastal Louisiana, will focus mainly on oil and gas companies.
Jordan- Represents a possible blank slate, which could be good moving forward as he is not established in any position.
ESG
Over the past year, “woke investing” or ESG has become a hot topic as some investors look for companies that go beyond just profits.
Scalise- Fighting against ESG investing in retirement plans, believes taxpayers deserve the most sound investments.
Jordan- Investigating BlackRock, Vanguard over reaching net zero emissions, which would harm American’s freedom and well-being.
Cryptocurrency
While neither Jordan nor Scalise have been heavily involved in crypto, whoever takes the seat will appoint leaders who are focused on the industry. The main focus revolves around market structure and stablecoins.

Going Green Gets Expensive

Is the Economy Better or Worse?
Well, the U.S. economy has added 2.3 million jobs this year, with an unemployment rate below 4%. However, many Americans don’t feel like the economy is doing well at all. Why is that?
Britain on the Verge of Financial Collapse
There are alarming parallels between the 1987 Black Monday crash and today's financial landscape in Britain. Rising bond yields, excessive government borrowing, and overextended markets paint a concerning picture. If history repeats itself, people will be impacted in several ways.
